The Palace of Fine Arts has always been a favorite destination. The weather in San Francisco was perfect on this Saturday in May. I envisioned this as a little test to get ready for the Pantheon in Rome next month, but ended up doing some HDR experimentation to get good exposure both inside and out.
The Palace of Fine Art was one of ten palaces built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition. It was designed by Bernard Maybeck, who was famous for his arts-and-crafts architecture and not necessarily this classically-influenced structure.
This experience also convinced me I needed a new tripod, a new pano head and a new camera bag. But just being in this beautiful place – in San Francisco – with Laura (we met here) makes me not care about equipment problems. I just remember this perfect day in San Francisco.
In spite of one’s presence right next to me, no famous people are immortalized in this shot.
