Queen Elizabeth II has just died, and everything is closed. Throngs of mourners are descending on London, and the Queue is forming. We opt for outdoors, away from the crowds, and head for Primrose Hill.
What a perfect day to enjoy the sunshine and a great view of London. We were not expecting 80° F (27° C) in mid-September. Glorious.
To get from Chalk Farm tube station to the top of Primrose Hill is a brisk uphill walk. The shops and townhouses along Regent’s Park Road are a charming prologue to the large expanse of Primrose Hill itself and the rest of adjacent Regent’s Park. We enjoyed a pint at a sidewalk table outside The Queens (how appropriate) when we came back down the hill.

One famous person is immortalized in the shot. Also, the plaque at the nadir of the shot immortalizes, for some reason, Welsh poet Iolo Morganwg (1747–1826).
